Hoteza Deploys a Demo App in a Virtual Hotel for the NYU School of Professional Studies

The future of hospitality is shaped by hoteliers, innovative technologies, and industry leaders. Hoteza added to this process by deploying its software in a virtual hotel in the HI Hub Experiential Learning Lab at the New York University’s School of Professional Studies Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality. Now hundreds of students who will later pursue careers in hospitality can experiment and evaluate a real-life example of an innovative hotel app. It is a fully working setup connected to the cloud and integrated with a real Property Management System (PMS). Students can see how check-in, check-out, purchasing, billing, room, and TV control work on a tablet or mobile device.

“Experiential learning supported by technology innovations is an important component of students’ journey at the Tisch Center of Hospitality because it prepares students for advanced careers in the hospitality industry. We are excited to welcome Hoteza to the HI Hub Lab’s ecosystem of digital solutions for hospitality and travel industries,” commented Vanja Bogicevic, PhD, director of the HI Hub Experiential Learning Lab at the Tisch Center of Hospitality.

After completing technology demos, students will be more proficient in how a particular technology works, the key benefits, and what products exist on the market. Deploying a demo solution is the first step in the collaboration. Hoteza plans to work closely with the Tisch Center’s faculty and students on projects designed to understand better how a particular technology can improve hotel operations and processes, solve a problem, or provide a benefit. Sometimes these questions give rise to new ideas that could contribute to developing Hoteza solutions.

Donna Kelly, clinical associate professor at the Tisch Center of Hospitality, commented on the implementation of Hoteza solutions in her course: “Customer relationship management and loyalty are crucial for any hospitality and tourism entity that is serious about success. Therefore, a course that seeks to expose our students at the Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality to the rudiments of customer relationship management would be necessary in our suite of courses.  When I learned of the partnership between the Tisch Center and Hoteza, I thought it imperative to invite a representative to our class to understand better how technology can aid the delivery of winning service. My students and I are grateful to Denis, Business Development Manager of Hoteza, for agreeing to speak to us about Hoteza’s philosophy and services and for providing us with a demonstration of the Hoteza app.

The app really does give the power to the guests

The Hoteza app is user-friendly and would benefit hoteliers as they seek to give guests more autonomy and provide contactless service. The app is valuable to a hospitality company’s arsenal for delivering great customer service.”

Denis Zaitsev, BDM of Hoteza, commented on unique experience with NYU:

“I’m fascinated by the curiosity of NYU students and am happy to expose them to a technology that we implement in real hotels around the world. Bringing academic knowledge and commercial product together in a single discussion evolves ideas that are otherwise overlooked by us as a vendor. There’s great value in knowing thoughts of NYU teachers and answering questions of NYU students as they help to direct our vision and shape some future-proof concepts. I find collaboration with NYU a unique way of creating a better future for the hospitality industry and admit all the valuable commitment of the Tisch Center faculty and students.”
